A Little Bit About Me
Ok, I'm going to tell you a bit about me. But just a little, uhm ?
My name is Fernando Higa (from there, ferhiga). I am peruvian, single and japanese descendant. I studied Electrical Engineering at Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería, also known as UNI, in the city of Lima, Perú. My work experience has been focused on Automation of Industrial Plants, involving the use of PLCs (programmable controllers), AC adjustable speed drives, SCADA systems and sensors of different types (if you don't understand what I'm saying, don't worry and let's continue).
I have developed applications with Clipper (many, many years ago !) and Visual Basic 6.0 and MS Access, both for multi-user environments. If you wish, you can take a look at some sample screens of the last project I was working on.
I can communicate myself in English both written and spoken, although some phrasal expressions confused me from time to time. Now I am learning Japanese, and that is something completely different, still trying to express something simple but ... let's keep on studying. I have been in Japan two times. The first time as a trainee thanks to a scholarship at Toshiba Fuchu Works and the next time last year for work.
I have worked in several local companies which are representantives of brands such as General Electric, Siemens, Telemecanique and others.
I'm still working as an independent programmer, mostly with Visual Basic, but also developing other type of applications, including some web designing as well.
My age ? I'm around .... years. Je, je. (Think on a number and .... no, that's not, sorry).
I guess I should add more but if something interesting happens I will tell you later.
So Long !
